About / FAQ
As prop collector of over 20 years, my goal for Production Props and Collectibles is to make prop collecting accessible to everyone. Having worked in the entertainment industry since 1999, including a stint at a major prop auction house, I’ve come across more awesome one-of-kind items than most people even knew existed, let alone knew were for sale.
What kind of products can be found at your booth?
Production Props and Collectibles aims to sell production-used pieces from film and TV. This includes but is not limited to props, set dressing, and behind-the-scenes materials made by past productions.
Do you sell any prop weapons?
In order to comply with rules of conventions and markets, we do not selling any realistic prop weapons (e.g. guns, explosives, knives and swords) that can be passed off as real. This includes not selling nonfunctional "stunt" weapons.
Do you sell any wardrobe / costumes used in TV and Movies?
Our main focus is on smaller props that can be displayed on a desk or a wall, however we will at times have small pieces of wardrobe, such as a sewn patch or a hat. We also sell some other clothing items from productions such as cast & crew gift T-shirts or hats.
Are the props you’re selling the exact ones used on screen?
Sometimes, but not necessarily, and these will always be pointed out in the product’s description and at the time of sale. Often multiple props are made by a prop maker, making it impossible to know which ones were seen on screen or not. That said, all of our props are items that were commissioned by the production and ones that in most cases will never be made again.
Where can I purchase your items? Do you have an online store?
Production Props and Collectibles is still a growing operation. As of right now we’re only selling at conventions and in-person markets. If you’re interested in where we’ll be, you can sign up for our mailing list here, follow us on social media, or check the appearances section of this site.
Where do you acquire your items? How can people be sure they’re legitimate?
Authenticity is the top priority for Production Props and Collectibles. Each item sold is carefully researched before being acquired. Some items come directly from prop makers and other entertainment industry professionals, others come from official auction houses or from known reliable collectors and resellers.
Simply put, if there is any doubt to the authenticity of an item, we will not sell it.
